Only 6 more weeks to go

Seems that the chemotherapy treatment that Bryan is receiving is doing exactly as it is expected to do. Day 14, lose hair (at least a large portion of it). We went to the hospital this morning for his 3rd round of Bleo. We didn't realize we had an appointment with the doctor, but it is always nice to see her. After lab work, we met with her and found out that on day 14, his white blood cell count might fall way below normal. Day 14 (this past Sunday), white blood cell count waaaaaay down. Right on schedule. Because of this, they gave his a shot to boost his WBC count and also prescribed an antibiotic. We then came home and returned to the hospital this afternoon at 3 for the Bleo treatment. With his WBC count so low, the doctor wanted to do what could be done to improve the WBC count and to ward off any possible infections before administering the Bleo. Since the Bleo is not the medication that caused this drop in his WBC count, it has to be continued. We have found that this type of chemotherapy regimen should not be interrupted if at all possible. We also found out today that Bryan will have to be admitted to the hospital on Thanksgiving Day to receive his 4-6 hour treatment because the Cancer Center will be closed that day. He will be able to come home for Thanksgiving supper. God is good all the time and all the time, God is good! (Bryan loves the holidays, especially all of the home cooking!) We have so much to be thankful for this holiday season. We look forward to what the Lord has in store. Pray that Bryan will not come into contact with any kind of germs that might make him sick. Only 6 more weeks to go...
